Alignment Therapy
A clinical mental health practice specializing in collaborative, evidence-based treatment
Launching: July 2026

Looking for a specialist is a powerful step. Research has shown that therapy is most effective when there’s a good match between you and your therapist, and you deserve someone who works to understand your concerns and is serious about helping you solve them.
You might be looking for a therapist because your worries have gotten too loud, crowding out opportunities for joy. Perhaps you feel burned out, overwhelmed, or frustrated. Maybe you’ve been feeling weighed down or stuck and it’s hard to find the motivation to do anything. You may be struggling with OCD, or you may have experienced trauma that’s hard to carry. If you see yourself in these words, I know how to help.
You might also be reaching out because your relationship has been feeling strained. If you and your partner have been experiencing more conflict than connection recently, or if there’s distance, grief, betrayal, or mistrust, we can work together to change directions. If sexual health or sexuality-related issues are difficult to talk about, I’m committed to supporting you.
I believe therapy is a collaborative process. You’re the expert on your own experiences and the author of your story. I’m a person who helps you make connections, overcome obstacles, explore new paths, and build the life you’ve been hoping for.
About Daniel
I found my home in Washington a decade ago, but I grew up in Minnesota and never quite left that Midwestern vibe behind. That means working with me will involve a lot of supportive energy and some mandatory dad jokes. I’m committed to therapy delivered through an evidence-based, trauma-informed, liberation lens. I’m enthusiastically affirming of LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodivergent, and kink/poly/CNM populations. I also grew up in an immigrant family and have experience navigating the world as a first-generation American. I work with adults aged 18+, and I specialize in OCD, PTSD, couples, and sex.
I’m a graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling MA program at Northwestern University. Before I entered the mental health field, I was a jointly-appointed professor of both Philosophy and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, with a focus on anti-oppression theory. I hold a non-clinical PhD in Philosophy from the University of Arizona. Between careers I worked for a nonprofit organization that offers pro-bono psychological evaluations for asylum seekers and survivors of torture.
